Digipak ideas; Visuals

I have looked at Kanye Wests 'Heartless' album for visual inspiration as I feel that the use of colour is very successful. The constrast between the artist's suit and the blue of the digipak is perfect as they do not clash; they complement one another. The 'crumpled red heart' technique is also extremely eeffective as it demonstrated the notion that album may be about heartbreak and/or relationship struggles. The red heart can also be seen on the breast of the artist shooting out a colourful array to the larger heart which signifies the artist has a lot of feelings around what he is trying to convey. The red heart standing alone on the back of digipak makes it appear vulnerable and open whilst giving the impression that Kanye West is wearing his heart on his sleeve and presenting all of his emotions in the album.
From this digipak, I can learn that colour can be used to effectively highlight emotions and that the use of colour need not be dramatic to still be achieve the desired effect; an overuse of colour could be too distracting and make the presentation of the digipak less successful as an overall product.
